Don Schleicher

Don started Striper fishing in the late 80’s when his wife’s grandfather, the late
Joe Thompson (co-host of The Tennessee Outdoorsmen) introduced him to live bait Striper fishing on Percy Priest Lake. Don has never been the same since and took over the guide service in 1997.

As member of the Percy Priest Hybrid & Striper Club Don is currently the secretary and publishes the monthly newsletter for the organization.
Don credits much of his success to his fellow club members. He feels like this is one of the major reasons for his evolution into one of Middle Tennessee’s finest Striper guides. Herbert Odum, Roy Whitehead, Jack Bryan, Roy Foster are a few of the names of local Striper fishermen that Don considers mentors who have made an impact on his life.

In 2001 Warren Turner of South Carolina contacted Don with an idea of starting a national Striped Bass trail and Don was eager to participate. Don is the Tennessee State representative for the NSBA and hosts the annual NSBA sanctioned events on Percy Priest Lake and Tim’s Ford. He and his team “Real Bass” won both NSBA sanctioned events at Tim’s Ford and the March event at Percy Priest to help them cap the 2004 title of State Champs. They added local guide Bob Angello to the team and together they are fishing the 2005 Shakespeare Gold Cup Striper Tour, fishing lakes from SC, GA, NC, AR, TN, KS & TX !

Billy Flatt

Billy is a Middle Tennessee native and has been fishing and hunting here his whole life. He and his son ( Cody) won the title of "2005 Angler of The Year" for Percy Priest Lake and has fished it since it was impounded in 1968.
He is a true Tennessee outdoorsman in every sense of the word.....he hunts deer, turkey, dove, squirrel, rabbit & dove...he traps mink, muskrat, beaver, otter and raccoon....and of he is an avid fisherman. You and your guests will enjoy his vast outdoor knowledge and warm personality aboard his 2006 Sea Ark center console which is enclosed for your comfort in foul weather.

Tommy Jacobs

Tommy started angling for Bass, Catfish and Bluegill as soon as he learned how to walk with his grandfather, Grover Marlin. Tommy always had an obsession for fishing which continued through his youth. Tommy then started saltwater fishing in the bays in and around Florida angling for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Mangrove Snapper, Snook, Flounder and sharks. Giving up freshwater fishing, Tommy headed off to Florida every chance he had for the next ten years.

About that time, Tommy started fishing with Captain Don and Gareth Sweetman and his life was forever changed. He never realized how great Striper and Hybrid fishing was in Middle Tennessee. The next year he joined Don and Gareth and started fishing the NSBA Gold Cup professional tour. During this time Tommy gained two State Champion titles, won several Division titles and has won a myriad of tournaments.

Tommy lives within walking distance of Percy Priest Lake and enjoys taking people Striper and Hybrid fishing. Call Tennessee Striper Guide and book a trip. You will be very comfortable aboard his 24 foot Triton LTS center console. Tommy is strictly a “catch and release” guide.

Bob Angello

Striper fishing has become a great passion for Bob. He spent over 20 years of his adult life as a Great Lakes Salmon fisherman. After moving to Nashville in the early eighties Bob was pleasantly surprised to find the Striper fishing very similar to what he was pursuing on the Great Lakes. After several years of understudy with some of the pioneers of the Striper fishing arena, I have struck out with a couple of premier guides and friends to help other people enjoy the wonderful fishing in Tennessee available to visitors and locals alike.

Bob feels fortunate to have won his angler of the year awards, Tennessee State champion awards and countless other tournaments including a National Striped Bass (NSBA) Gold Cup Series tournament. Bob is curently fishing the NSBA Gold Cup Series as the Captain of Team Triton.

Come visit and fish for Tennessee Stripers, you won't be disappointed. Even if the fish don't bite, Bob is a really funny guy!
